Pinnacle Martial Arts, Rushville, IN, is pleased to announce Mr. Travis Thompson will be conducting a "Karate from the Clinch" Seminar. The focus of this seminar is to look at the close range fighting techniques that are seen across several styles of Karate and their respective Kata.  There will be a focus on flinch responses and standing grappling techniques that give the student the opportunity to off balance their opponent and/or damage the joints of the attacker. Mr. Thompson has been an Officer with the Anderson Police Department since 2006 where he is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division as a Detective in the Major Crimes Unit.  He was certified as a Physical Tactics Instructor through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 2009 and serves as a Physical Tactics and Firearms Instructor at the Anderson Police Department. Guro/Guru Besar Jerry Jacobs is the Southwest Michigan, Indiana & Ohio Representative for the Pekiti Tirsia Kali World Federation under Tuhon Mel Tortal. Guru Besar Jerry is also the Global Director, founder and Grand Master of PCK Silat and PCK International. He teaches at the PCK Headquarters in Niles, Michigan USA, offering group classes and private instruction in PTK Srivijaya and PCK Silat. He also travels globally to spread PTK Srivijaya and PCK Silat through seminars and workshops. Guro/Guru Besar has a lifetime of Martial Arts experience in multiple disciplines from dozens of teachers over his 40 years of training and is a wealth of martial arts knowledge. If you’re an advanced or skilled Kali or FMA practitioner, or even a beginner you’ll enjoy this experience. No matter your martial arts background, be it Karate, Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, MMA etc. Guro Jerry will give you something to use in your arsenal.

The Kosho School of Karate, Cincinnati, OH is hosting a Jodo seminar Aug. 2-4. Organized by Nate England, USKK member and Shuri-ryu 6th Dan, Nate is also a 5th Dan in Shindo Muso Ryu Jo-Do. This style is focused on combat against the sword (boken). This is the 2nd largest Jodo seminar in the US and will be attended by Jodo-ka from across the country. Beginners are welcome.
